How I Write- by Bianca888

Have you ever been assigned to write a story? Ever been stuck, frustrated about how you can't figure out how to start it, end it, or simply write it? Well, once you've read this article, you'll know how I overcome these frustrating complications.

When I have to write a story, I first figure out which genre I'll be writing about. Fantasy? Romance? Mystery?

Tip #1- Fantasy or fiction are probably the best genre to choose, because anything can happen in an unreal world, meaning you can include anything you want!

Once figuring that out, I figure out what/who my main character is. Is it a human, or an animal? A girl or a boy? A dragon or a ghost? There are so many things your main character can be.

Tip #2- Want to make your character interesting? How about making him/her the bad guy of your story, or make him/her an animal. Try to create a unique character, grabbing readers' attention.

After choosing my character the story will revolve around, I then think up a plot. What will happen to my character and how will he/she overcome or deal with it? I usually go with something in the action category- like a boy walking in the forest one day, and a dragon grabbing him and flying with him to his lair, or a girl who's a spy going into the apartment of a criminal to get information out of his computer.

Tip #3- Having trouble coming up with a good plot? Well, an idea that I find fun: take a plot or idea from a book you like, and change it up to make it your own! Or, take bits and pieces from multiple books, and merge them to create one great plot!

After developing a plot, it's time to start writing! I find it easier to write when I'm on my computer, because the ides flow better, but write it on whatever you're more comfortable with! So, how to start the story. Usually, I start it with a sound, like the character speaking or a bell ringing or something like that, since it's easier to write with a noise, because the REACTION to the sound can help you to start the story. BeCAUSE the reaction to the reaction of the first noise of the story will help you continue the story, and so on. Or, you can look online for story starters that might help. Another idea; study how other authors start their stories, and how they can immediately grasp your attention with a few simple phrases.

Once I've started off my story, the rest just comes to me! If you've created a good plot, the rest should come to you too! If you ever get writer's block, just stop writing and read a book, since that has REALLY helped me with my writing in the past.

Tip #4- If you decide to read a book and take my advice when you get writer's block, try to focus on something that relates to what you're writing, since it can give you ideas and inspiration for your story.

After writing and writing, it's finally time to end the story. Try to end it in a bittersweet way, so that your readers are satisfied, but don't get exactly what they want, making them want more.

Thank you for turning to my article for help on how to write a story, and I hope it helped you out!

Sincerely yours, Bianca =)
